History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

The home which eventually became the Stonacek Memorial Chapel was built in 1895 by the H.H. Mohr family. Herman Mohr operated the lumber yard now owned by Robert Carhart. Daniel Duff purchased the home in 1914 and sold it in 1919 to Frank Strelow.
The home was purchased by Bill and Sharon Stonacek in 1960 and converted to the present business, Stonacek Memorial Chapel.
In 1963, the chapel was enlarged and in 1965 the round porch was torn off and a business and arrangement office, bathroom and casket room were added. At that time, the living quarters were also enlarged upstairs. The wooden porch and wooden steps were replaced with cement and brick and the new pillars were completed in 1975. In 1985, the preparation room was enlarged and a music room was added.
