NORFOLK -- Funeral Service for Noreen J. Sattler, 80, of Norfolk will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk with Tim DeFor officiating. Interment will be a private family service at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel of Norfolk. Noreen passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Arc of Norfolk which was a very important part of Noreen's life. The Arc has been advocating for the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities and their families since 1953. Born Nov. 4, 1937, in Omaha, she was the daughter of Irvin and Myrtle Dora (Moerike) Cline. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1955. She married Alfred W. Sattler at Christ Lutheran Church in 1957. Her love for her children spanned her entire life. She was involved within the community such as Region 4, ARC and foster care to name a few. She had a love for decorating, playing Scrabble and social activities with friends. The love of family took her many places, such as Kansas City, Chicago, Seattle, New York, California, Colorado and South Dakota. Survivors are her children, Connie Chavet of Dallas, Texas, Melody Borcherding of Olympia, Wash., Stacey Owens (Edwin Medina) of Chicago, Ill., Lydia (Mike) Koehler of Overland Park, Kan., Daniel Martinez of Omaha, Miguel Martinez of Omaha and Jackie Silva of Temple, Texas; her grandchildren, Christina (Joe) Garcia of Shawnee, Okla., Brian (Erin) Rutjen of Omaha, Hillary Borcherding of Burlington, Vt., and Matthew Borcherding of Portland, Ore.; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Ethan Rutjens, Kaitlyn and Myles Garcia; a sister, Sandy McGrath of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews.
