Alice R. Herbolsheimer

STANTON – Funeral service for Alice R. Herbolsheimer, 87 of Stanton, will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Pastor Caleb Wehling will be officiating the service. Following the luncheon, interment will be held at the Stanton Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Alice passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at The Meadows Assisted Living in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Alice was born on April 25, 1937 in Stanton, NE to Henry and Louise (Fuchs) Hansen. Alice was Baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Stanton. She attended grade school at District # 8 in Stanton County and attended computer classes at Northeast Community College. She married Ivan E. Herbolsheimer on August 12, 1957 at the New England Congregational Church in Stanton. The family lived in Tilden for a few years and moved to farm north of Stanton for 50 years. The couple moved to Stanton in 1989. Alice owned and operated The Thrifty Shop in Stanton for many years. Alice enjoyed visiting with the customers. Alice enjoyed going to dances, waltz, and polkas, baking with her grandchildren, gardening, canning, and loved her home town of Stanton. Alice was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Stanton, Ladies Aid, life time member of Stanton V.F.W. Auxiliary, Kenningston Club, and Stanton Garden View Club. Survivors include two children, Michael (Cindy) Herbolsheimer of Stanton, Denise (Mark) Wieman of Howells; four grandchildren, Travis (Danielle) Herbolsheimer of Norfolk, Brad Herbolsheimer of Omaha, Nick Wieman of Nashville, TN., Abbey Wieman of Howells; 3 great-grandchildren, Westin Herbolsheimer, Paisley Herbolsheimer, Jordyn Herbolsheimer, and sister-in-law Leila (Wesley) Kumm of Osmond. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Herbolsheimer on Nov. 3, 2010, parents Henry and Louise, sisters Betty Beckman, Evelyn Mathis, brother David Hansen, and sister-in-law LaVila Voss. Casket bearers will be Kevin Reese, Kody Reese, Eric Hansen, Jon Hansen, Randy Buhrman, and Jeff Hansen. Honorary casket bearers will be grandchildren Travis Herbolsheimer, Bradley Herbolsheimer, Nick Wieman, and Abbey Wieman.
