NORFOLK – Funeral service for Carol I. Davidson, 83, formerly of Norfolk, will be held at 11;00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Pastor Brian Guy will be officiating the service. Interment will be held at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, also at Stonacek Funeral Chapel. Carol passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman, TX. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Carol was born on December 9, 1940 in Britton, South Dakota to Ralph and Irma (Payne) Dietz. She grew up on a farm near Cogswell, North Dakota and graduated from Cogswell High School in 1958. She attended Nebraska Christian College and received her Christian Education Certificate. She then attended Norfolk Junior College and received her Secretarial Certificate. Carol married Philip H. “Phil” Davidson on August 4, 1968 at the First Christian Church in Norfolk. After marriage, Carol and Phil lived in Norfolk. She began working at the Norfolk Daily News as a typesetter and proof reader. She then worked at Nebraska Christian College as a cook. She later worked for Norfolk Public Schools as a classroom para at Washington Elementary School until transferring to food service until she retired in 2015. Carol was a member of First Christian Church where she held various roles as a Sunday School Teacher, Co-Director of Vacation Bible School, Co-Director of Childrens Christmas Programs, Financial Secretary, and Reception Coordinator. Carol is survived by sons Scott (Michelle) Davidson of Gunter, TX, Ryan (Megan) Davidson of Belton, MO, sisters, Beverly (Russell) McCracken of Parker, CO, Marlys (J.H.) Schroeder of Elizabeth, CO, Janine (Roger) Hasselquist of Webb City, MO, brother Jim (Linda) Dietz of Gering, NE, brother-in-law Paul Sisson of Lewisville, TX, sister-in-law Lily Dietz of Crookston, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Phil in 2005, parents Ralph and Irma, infant brother Dickie Ralph, sisters Phyllis Nungester and Janice Sisson, brother Raymond Dietz. Pianist will be Bill Miller. Casket bearers will be Ron McCracken, Dallas Schroeder, Casey Schroeder, Andy Dietz, Chris Dietz, Titus Seagraves.
