DeAnna M. Irish

HOSKINS – Celebration of life service for DeAnna M. Irish, 66, of Hoskins, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2023 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Rev. Pam Williams will be officiating the service. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday, prior to the service. DeAnna passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at her residence, rural Hoskins. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. DeAnna was born on September 25, 1957 in Atkinson, NE to George F. and Polly M. (Hammes) Payne. She attended grade school in St. Libory, NE and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1975. She then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln Technical School as an animal technician. After her graduation from college, she worked as a Vet Tech in Cozad. DeAnna married Stephen K. “Steve” Irish on August 2, 1980 in Gothenburg, NE and the couple then resided in Cozad. They later moved to Norfolk and later to rural Hoskins. DeAnna worked at Top Hat Service in Norfolk and would become part-owner. She later began working for MP Global Products in Norfolk and was still working there until her passing. DeAnna enjoyed collecting antiques, coins, and she saved pallets for future projects. She loved all animals especially cats, horses, dogs and chickens. She was very involved in the Madison County 4-H horse program for 30 years. DeAnna is survived by her daughters Margo (Craig) Reeson of Hoskins, Nicole Irish (Ron Armitage) of Hoskins, Desiree Irish (Dave Mast) of Hoskins, her grandchildren Journee Reeson, Camrynn Marx, Ashlynn Marx, Cameron Armitage, Chrystian Armitage, Andrew (Courteney) Armitage, great-grandson Hudson Armitage, siblings Becky (Dallas) Gerdes of Oconto, NE, Jack (Judy) Payne of Arizona, Pam (Cal) Williams of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her spouse Stephen Irish in 2016, parents George and Polly, brother Junior Payne, brothers-in-law Ed, Mel, Bob, Pat, and Bennette, sister-in-law Judy Vanderpool, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ben (Verna) Irish.
