PIERCE – Funeral services for Donald F. Wragge, 94, of Pierce funeral services will be held 10:30 am Friday September 20, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church, Pierce. Officiating the service will be P.M.A Jacquie Samway, Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, Pierce. Military rites by Tomek-Otto post #72 American Legion, Pierce, NE and United States Army Honors Guard. Interment will be at Prospect View Cemetery, rural Pierce Don passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Premier Estates in Pierce, NE. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce is in charge of the arrangements. Don was born on March 22, 1930 in Pierce, NE. to James Sr. and Irene (Machmueller) Wragge. He grew up in Pierce and attended District 44 School in Pierce. He enlisted in the United States Army from March 27, 1952 to March 6, 1954 stationed in Germany. He married Marvene Meyer on May 26, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierce. After married the couple farmed north of Pierce. They retired and moved to Pierce in March of 1992. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce, American Legion, Pierce School Board two terms, Pierce Senior CenterBoard. He is survived by his wife Marvene of Pierce, sons Curtis (Nancy) Wragge of Norfolk, Douglas and (Lynne) Wragge of Omaha, Glenn (Marcia) Wragge of Bennington, Bradley (Kari) Wragge of Eden Prairie, MN. daughters Jan Wragge of Pierce and Carol (Dan) Thayer of Pierce. 14 grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren. Sister JoAnn Hansen of Pierce. He is preceded in death by his parents James Sr., and Irene, brothers James Jr. Wallace and Gerald, and his sisters Shirley Wragge, and Dorothy Boss. The organist will be by Marjorie Leach, recorded hymn “In Daddy’s Hands”, congregational hymns “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, “Nearer My God To Thee”, “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”, “Battle Hymn Of The Republic”, Casket Bearers will be Justin Zohner, Tyler Haas, Jacob Wragge, Ethan Wragge, Blake Wragge, Shane Thayer, and Caleb Wragge. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Leigha Hebenstreit, Erica Haas, Jill Gilliand, Liz Thelen, Clare Dewitt, Brittney Lance, and Ellie Jepperson.
