Gregory "Greg" J. Luna

NORFOLK – Celebration of life gathering for Gregory "Greg" J. Luna, 60, of Norfolk will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2024 at The Terrace Ballroom in the Midtown Event Center in Norfolk. Greg died on Saturday, August 3, 2024 with loved ones by his side at UNMC in Omaha, NE. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Greg was born on December 6, 1963 in Abilene, Kansas to Freddie and Belinda (Anderson) Luna. Greg grew up in Kansas and Texas and attended Solomon schools in Solomon, Kansas, where he worked for Solomon Electric. Greg later received his GED from the state of Nebraska. Greg married his first wife Theresa in 1983 who brought his first Nathanial with her and together gave birth to Joseph Luna and Danielle Luna. Greg spent many years as a welder in Aurora, NE with his family and later at Apache manufacturing in Norfolk. The couple later divorced and for a brief time married Jackie Buol, whom he later divorced as well. Greg spent his later years painting and finishing houses for Messerly Painting and pouring concrete and doing construction for several outfits. Greg was a legendary toy maker and thousands of his toys can be found scattered across Nebraska. His artistic ability was widely known, he constantly made crafts and small art projects which he gave away to everyone. Greg was an avid fisherman, a beloved father and grandfather, as well as a wealth of knowledge. Greg loved fiercely with his whole heart and could talk to squirrels. He rode dirt bikes and could literally fix anything. Greg was survived by his sons Nathanial Ferry, Joseph (Andrea) Luna, daughter Danielle Luna, brothers Kevin Luna, Randy Stone, Brad Stone, sisters Holli Smith, Karen Meyers, and Belinda Vance, grandchildren: Marketta Colsden, Myles Ferry, Baden Luna, Brendyn Luna, Noah Medberry, and Wesley Buol, great-grandchildren Cecil Hansen, Bowen Hansen, and many nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents Freddie and Belinda, and his brothers Terry and Tim. “Go Fund Me” page has been set up for Greg's memorial if people wish to send a memorial to the family.
