Jerry L. Brumels, age 45 of Elm Creek, died Thursday, April 05, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Monday, April 9 at the O'Brien - Straatmann - Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with Rev. Bob Wine officiating. Visitation for Jerry will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday April 13, 2012 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk; Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday April 14, 2012 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, officiating Rev. Leon Rosenthal, Norfolk; private family inurnment will be in Spring Branch Cemetery in Norfolk, NE at a later date. Memorials are suggested to family for future designation. Online remembrances and condolences may be sent to info@stonacekfuneralchapel.com. He was born January 5, 1967 in Norfolk,NE to Randall and Karen (Salmen) Brumels. He grew up and received his education in Norfolk. On April 27, 1997, he was married to Kandi Wilke inBattle Creek,NE. They lived inLincoln, where he was self-employed and later moved to Elm Creek. He was a member of New Life Assembly. Jerry was an excellent carpenter and always did everything to perfection. He also was a good handyman. He could repair and fix anything around the house or on the car. He loved Nebraska football, Elm Creek sports and homemade pizza. He loved his wife and three boys the very most. He was so proud of their success in sports and swimming. His faithful dog Bozo was always there by his side in good health or in sickness. The family would like to pay special thanks to Dr. J.D. Nelson for all he did for Jerry and nurse Erin. Also a thank you to special friend Delayne for all his help with Jerry in his last days. We cannot thank him enough. Survivors include his wife of Elm Creek; sons, Jerry Jr, Troy and Nicholas of Elm Creek; parents, Randall and Ruth Brumels of Norfolk and Wally and Karen Deets of Norfolk; sister, Sandra Tappan and husband Ron of Elm Creek; step-brothers, Orlan Braun of Atkinson and Daryl Braun and wife Terri of Manhattan, KS; step-sister, Elaine Clemens of O'Neill; father and mother-in-law, Walt and Dianne Wilke of Salem, OR; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, 3 uncles, 1 aunt and best friend James Hansen. Honorary attendants will be Ron Tappan, Kevin Jonak, Cheryl Dalton, Jeff Tappan, Justin Terry, Michaela Terry, Nichole Brumels, Nyla Wilke, Racheal Wilke, Lucas Mikkelson and all of Jerry's friends.
