NORFOLK — Funeral service for Judith Schrader, 80, of Norfolk will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Rev. Paul Hirsch will be officiating the service. Interment will be at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Judith died Friday, October 4, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Judy was born on October 3, 1944 at her home in Stanton, NE to Erwin (Bub) & Irene (Glaser) Matthes. Judy was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton, NE. She attended and graduated from Stanton High School in 1962. After high school Judy worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone company as a telephone operator for 2 years. She then married Neal Schrader on August 22, 1964 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. To this union three kids were born; Jenny, Steve, and Lori. Judy then quit her job to stay home and raise her children. After her children were older, she began working again. She worked at Sears as a floor sales associate and also worked in the customer service department. Judy loved to talk to people and was very good at her job. She would also work at Dales and later Menards before she retired in 2009. Judy loved to go bowling, pull handles at the casino, and watch the husker football team. She especially loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Judy is survived by her husband Neal of 60 years. Her 3 children Jenny (late husband Mike) Morris of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Steve (Lori) Schrader of Norfolk, NE and their children, Cody (Cassidy), Josh Schrader, & Malori Schrader, and Lori (Matt) Brogren of Winside, NE and their children, Halle (Jaden) Meyer and their son Wesley Meyer, & Dylan Brogren. One sister Marilyn Shattuck of Omaha, NE and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Beverly, and son-in-law Mike Morris.
