Madeline "Maddie" K. Loewe

STANTON – Graveside services for Maddie will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek, Nebraska. All are welcome to attend. Following the service, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life at the VFW Hall in Stanton, where we will gather to share memories, stories, and refreshments in honor of Maddie. Madeline passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. Madeline “Maddie” Kay Loewe (née Klein), age 76, of Stanton, Nebraska, passed away on March 31, 2025, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a donation in Maddie’s name to a local charity of their choice. Maddie was born on January 30, 1949, in Tilden, Nebraska, to Betsy and Victor Klein. She was raised in Battle Creek, Nebraska with her beloved sister Jeanette. She was proud of her time as a lifeguard and helping with the family's business. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1967 and soon after, earned a degree in Bookkeeping from CE School of Commerce in Omaha. Here is where she met Edward Loewe. They were married in 1969 and were blessed with two children, Christopher and Regina. They made their home on a farm near Pilger, Nebraska, where Maddie played a vital role in the farm operations, organization, bookkeeping, and raising their family. In 1990, Maddie made a move to Stanton, Nebraska. There, she continued her work as a bookkeeper, served part-time at Elkhorn Acres Golf Club, and enjoyed yard work, golfing, and bowling. Maddie cherished spending time with her family, especially during holidays with her sister’s family in Omaha. She made special efforts to attend graduations, baptisms, weddings, and the births of her grandchildren—whenever her heart health and body allowed. During her time in Stanton, she met her longtime companion, Ron Wolff. Together, they shared many joyful years, working on his farm property,enjoying their casino trips together, and traveling with Ron’s family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betsy and Victor Klein, and her great-grandchild, Oakley Bailey. Maddie is survived by her companion, Ron Wolff; her children: Chris (Tammy) Loewe of Loveland, CO, and Regina (Jay Dee) Osburn of Valentine, NE; sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Marshall of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Nicholas (Kassie) Loewe and Ava Loewe—both of Loveland, CO; Lauren (Brandon) Bailey of Gordon, NE, Samuel Osburn of Valentine, NE; great-grandchild, Hayze Bailey of Gordon, NE; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Maddie also embraced Ron Wolff’s family as her own. She is survived by Ron's daughter, Joy (Rick) Colwell of Stanton, NE; and his grandchildren: Kelsey (Branden) Smith of Omaha, NE; Ashley (Henry Bohac) Colwell of Lincoln, NE; and Emily Colwell of Lincoln, NE. Though Maddie and Ron never married, she considered them, treasured family. Maddie will be remembered for her kind heart, steady presence, frugal nature, tough love and maybe a pinch of stubbornness. Thank you to all who loved her and cared for her. She held onto EVERYTHING—so we are sure she has taken all the love bestowed upon her in this life with her to her Creator in heaven.
