Marcella "Sally" J. Bloomquist

RANDOLPH — Services for Marcella “Sally’’ J. Bloomquist, 74, of McLean will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Frances Catholic Church here with burial in the parish cemetery and the Rev. Michael Swanton officiating. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the church with a Christian Mothers rosary at 3 p.m. and parish rosary at 7 p.m. Arrangements are by Stonacek Memorial Chapel of Osmond. Marcella “Sally” J. Bloomquist, age 74 of McLean, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Heritage of Bel Air Care Center surrounded by her family. Sally was born on Sept. 29, 1938, to Frank and Violetta (Kalvelage) Reineke at McLean. She attended McLean Public School until 11th grade and then transferred to St. Frances in 1955, graduating in 1956. After graduation she moved to Omaha and was employed at Northwestern Bell in the accounting office for four years. While in Omaha, she played on a women’s fast-pitch softball team, where she was the pitcher. Sally married Neil D. Bloomquist on Oct. 1, 1960, at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph. They made their home on the family farm near McLean for the past 52 years. She was an active member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, including a member of Christian Mothers, C.C.D. teacher for many years, member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Ministry of Praise, a member of the Osmond American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Neil and Sally were members of the same neighborhood card club for 52 years. Sally will be sadly missed by her best friend and husband of 52 years, Neil, and their seven children and spouses: Barb and Jeff Rohde of Randolph; Greg Bloomquist of Vacaville, Calif.; Sherri and Brad Bargstadt of Randolph; Jeff and Tracy Bloomquist of Newington, Conn.; Chuck and Marci Bloomquist of Lake Stevens, Wash.; Dan and Trish Bloomquist of Bellevue; and Angie and Tige Jones of Adel, Iowa; and 17 grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Violetta; two sisters and spouses, Margaret and Dale Lewandowski of Loup City, Marilyn and Don von Rentzell of Waverly; six brothers, Ervin and Dinah Reineke of Randolph, Sam and Nancy Reineke of Randolph, Melvin and Diane Reineke of Hastings, Gerald and Diane Reineke of Hastings, Gary and Mary Reineke of Sioux Falls, S.D., Patrick Reineke of Bow Valley; one brother-in-law, Eldred Bloomquist of Randolph; two sisters-in-law, Vaun Bloomquist of Randolph and Jan Wilbeck of Orange City, Iowa. Sally was preceded in death by her father, Frank; brother Francis in infancy; sister-in-law Armella Bloomquist; and brothers-in-law Duane Bloomquist, Arvid Bloomquist and Rod Wilbeck. Soloists will be Cori Clausen and Tom Bruckner and organist Ruth Carstens. Casket bearers are grandsons Nic Rohde, Chris Rohde, Josh Zamora, Christian Bloomquist, Josh Bloomquist, Austin Bloomquist and Elijah Jones. Honorary casket bearers are granddaughters Abigail Rohde, Meghan Rohde, Ashley Bloomquist, Brianne Bargstadt, Olivia Bargstadt, Kaitlyn Bloomquist, Alyssa Bloomquist, Lauren Bloomquist, Amanda Jones and Shannan Jones.
