Nellie A. Stachura

NORFOLK – Funeral service for Nellie Ann Stachura, 85, of Norfolk, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Rev. Paul Hirsch will be officiating the service. Interment will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Nellie passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Heritage of Bel-Air Nursing Home in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Nellie was born on February 11, 1939 to Ordie and Evelyn (Kussman) Watts in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She attended grade school up until 8th grade when she had to quit to help provide for the family. She married Lambert Stachura on December 26, 1959 in Columbus at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. While there they had two sons. In 1972, they moved to Norfolk and there their daughter was born. Nellie also worked as a demo lady at Lou’s and was a childcare provider. She also had the joy of babysitting her grandchildren for many years. She loved home interior, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Nikki (Wess) Leuthold of Norfolk, daughter-in-law Brenda Stachura of Norfolk, grandchildren Stewart (Erin) Stachura of Norfolk, Brittanie (Nate) Dobrovolny of Norfolk, Jett, Genavieve, and Zayden Leuthold, great-grandchildren Mason and Paxton Stachura, Maverick and Sloane Dobrovolny, siblings Dottie (Paul) Campbell of Lincoln, Frank Watts of Campbell, Louis Watts of Wymore, NE, Danny Watts of Cuba, KS, Merle (Pat) Watts of Plymouth, and many nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Lambert Stachura Sr. on May 21, 2012, parents Ordie and Evelyn Watts, sons Todd Stachura, Jim Stachura, siblings Robert Watts, Arlene (Charles) Hoarty, Kathryn Cary, Josie (Ray) Cary, and Sharon Watts. Organist will be Karen Pufahl. Casket bearers will be Wess Leuthold, Stewart Stachura, Nate Dobrovolny, Scott Hoarty, Jett Leuthold, and Kurt Peterson.
