NORFOLK – Funeral Service for Patricia “Pat” L. Klug, 95, of Norfolk will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 1:00PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Officiating the services will be Rev. Paul Hirsch. Interment will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2-4PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Pat passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. Pat was born on June 18, 1929 in Battle Creek, NE to Roy and Margaret (Hoffley) Murphy. She would attend Battle Creek High School for a couple years before helping on the family farm. She met the love of her life, Gilbert Klug and the two were married on March 29, 1948 in Norfolk, NE. The two of them were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Pat was an excellent cook; she knew recipes in her head and had nothing written down. She worked at the Hotel Madison in Norfolk as a cook and waitress before she became a longtime cook at the Norfolk Senior High and Lunch Program. She was good at sewing and even made her daughter’s wedding dresses and several others. She loved gardening, canning, working on the flowers in her garden. She loved golfing, bowling, and camping. But most of all she loved her grandkids and great grandkids. Pat was also very active in the community. She volunteered for meals on wheels, calling people for the blood mobile, and making chili or chicken noodle soup. Pat is survived by her children, Linda (David) Thoms of Norfolk, Lynette Klug of Norfolk, Larry Klug of Norfolk, and LeeAnn (Rick) Cherington of Yankton, SD. 8 grandkids, Shane Klug, Brent Thoms, Brandon Klug, Casey Cherington, Andy Thoms, Katie Pfeiffer, Ryan Thoms, and Chris Cherington. 15 great grandkids and 1 great great grandchild. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, parents, and 1 sister Elaine Dather.
