Robert Paul Baker Sr.

NORFOLK – Memorial service for Robert P. Baker Sr., 64, of Norfolk, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Pastor Bruce Phillips will be officiating the service. No burial is planned at this time. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Robert passed away with his family at his side on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at his residence in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Robert Paul Baker Sr. son of proud parents William “Dub” and Donna Baker was born in Palo Alto, California on October 12 1960. Robert was blessed with a sharp mind that could solve complex problems and was a vast reservoir of intelligence. He was a licensed Real Estate Agent in four states where he flourished mostly as a Commercial Real Estate Developer. He got his pilot’s license at the young age of 18 and owned several of his own planes throughout the years. He loved the joys of flying and seeing God’s beauty from the air, this is where he felt the most alive. He was an avid tennis player and a lot of his free time was spent playing at the tennis club. His success in life led to early retirement, but that was very short lived. After he met his wife Sandy, he purchased Phelps Jewelry & Coin which grew into the largest bullion store in Nebraska. Once his health fell short, he sold the store which is still in operation today. He met so many wonderful people and gained some many great friends throughout this opportunity. Robert’s deep-rooted spirituality shined through in everything he did. He was always quick to lend a helping hand through his time, resources, and his wisdom. His sense of humor was legendary. He had a unique talent for making everyone around him bust into laughter, often times making us laugh at ourselves. His intelligence was nothing short of astounding and his memory was like a steel trap. Sandy always called him her Google. Robert is survived by his beloved and treasured wife Sandy, mother Donna, children Robert Jr, Ashley, Felicia, Kyle, Kaleb, and grandchildren Bryce, Peyton, Logan, Luke, Kiarrah, Kiannah, Kamirah, and Kingston. He was preceded in death by his father Dub, son Ryan, and two brothers Craig and Steven. Robert’s kindness, humor, devotion and love for his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
