NORFOLK -- Services for Scott A. Brus, 40, of Lincoln, formerly of Norfolk, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites By American Legion Post #16, V.F.W. Post #1644, Norfolk, Nebraska and the United States Army Honors Guard. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Justin Wiese will officiate. He died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Lincoln. He was born May 28, 1972, at Springfield, Ill., to Wayne B. and Sharian I. (Peters) Brus. He was baptized there and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norfolk. He attended Bel-Air Elementary School, graduated from Norfolk High School in 1990 and graduated from Northeast Community College with a degree as an electronics technician in 1996.\r\n\r\nScott grew up in Norfolk. He later moved to Lincoln where he worked in his field as a electronics technician for several years. Due to an injury he was unable to keep working in this field, at which time he began taking classes in business management. Scott was most proud and passionate about anything and everything involving his son Jordan. They shared the love of football, which is what you could find them enjoying together nearly every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season and talking about and preparing for it in the off season. He enlisted in the National Guard as an infantryman in 1990, served for six years and was honorably discharged in 1996. He was married to Sonia Koehler on May 21, 1994, at Zion Lutheran Church, Pierce. They divorced in 2000. Survivors include son Jordan Brus of Lincoln, brother Joe and wife Stacey Brus of Carlsbad, Calif., stepfather John Tuch of Norfolk, grandmother Verna Peters of Davenport, Iowa, half brother Mark and wife Molly Tuch of Elkhorn, half sister Christa and husband Ryan Yeackley of Lincoln, stepbrother Brad Tuch and wife Joni of Lincoln, stepsister Brenda Curry of Richland Hills, Texas. He was preceded in death by brother John Brus in 1987, father Wayne Brus in 1989 and mother Sharian Tuch in 2004. Music will be by organist Steve Reineke and congregational hymns "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings" and "Lord Of All Faithfullness." Casket bearers will be Jordan Brus, Joe Brus, Mark Tuch, Keith Townsend and David Jensen. Virgil Brus
