Sherri Lynn Kuk

NORFOLK – Funeral service for Sherri L. Kuk, 64, of Goodyear, Arizona, formerly of Norfolk, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Pastor Kathleen Splitt and Pastor Jim Splitt will be officiating the service. Interment will be at the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, also at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk. Sherri passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Sherri was born on July 12, 1960 in Schuyler, Nebraska. She graduated from Leigh High School in 1978. She attended Wayne State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She married Steve “Cookie” Kuk on November 18, 1995 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Sherri was a devoted employee of USBank for nearly 40 years where she held various roles until she retired in January, 2025. Sherri and Steve relocated to Arizona in 2020 to make the most of the sunshine and many athletic activities in their retirement community including pickleball, softball and golf. Sherri loved riding horses, cheering on her beloved huskers in all sports, fountain Pepsi and volunteering in various capacities – namely in serving animal shelters and regularly taking her service dog to bring cheer to nursing home residents. She was a caring and supportive grandmother who loved being active with her grandkids. Sherri is survived by her husband Steve Kuk of Norfolk, daughter Lindsey (Keil) Pittman and their daughter Eisley of Overland Park, KS, son Scott (Nicole) Kuk and their children Brenna and Cooper of Norfolk, son Kyle Kuk of Tucson, AZ, daughter Sheena Kuk of Omaha, brother Jeff (Brenda) Machmueller of Leigh, brother Jay (BJ) Machmueller of Broken Arrow, OK, sister Staci Machmueller of Leigh, brother Jim (Bonnie) Machmueller of Leigh, Lonnie Koch of Lincoln, Leslie Orvis of Lincoln, and many more beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as cherished friends. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents Don and Beverly Machmueller, grandparents George and Ruby Neuhaus, and grandparents Harvey and Avis Koch. As an alternative to flowers, the family also welcomes donations in Sherri’s name made to the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska and Make A Wish of Nebraska.
