Terence Reagan III

PIERCE — Services for retired Sgt. Maj. Terence Reagan III, 85, of Pierce will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Pierce. The Rev. Keith Rezac will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap Veterans National Cemetery at Annville, Pa. Military rites will be provided by the U.S. Army Honors Guard of Annville. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce. He died Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home in Mesa, Ariz. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project. The son of Terence Jr. and Cecelia (Gredler) Reagan was born Jan. 22, 1929, at Erie, Pa. He graduated from Cathedral Prep High School in Erie in 1946. He married Maxine Jeanette Thompson on Aug. 19, 1949. His military career was 27 years. It started in Denver, Colo., and he served one tour in Japan, two tours in Korea and one tour in Germany. He was Sergeant Major of the 21st. Corp. at Fort Indiantown Gap in Annville, Penn. He received multiple commendations for exemplary service. They moved to Pierce in 1972. After retirement he attended Northeast Community College and taught math in the utility lineman department for 19 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierce, Pierce EMTs, Boy Scout Leader and was active with the Pierce Senior Center and American Legion. They enjoyed camping, and he was a motorcycle enthusiast. Terence enjoyed spending his winters in Mesa, where he was active at the Senior Center there, as well as the Mesa Police Department and doing chartable work at the center for abused women, the local orphanage and the V.A. Terence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Reagan; five children, Teralyn and husband David Mailey of Palmyra, Penn., Kevin and wife Marilyn Reagan of Pierce, Mark and wife Charlotte Reagan of Pierce, Tracey and husband Dan Campbell of Albia, Iowa, Matthew Reagan of El Mirage, Ariz.; grandchildren, Travis and wife Tanya Reagan, Justin Reagan, Jennifer Duchene, Brandon Reagan, Nichole Reagan, Christopher Reagan, Michael Oatman and William Oatman; great-grandchildren, Leah Reagan, Logan Reagan, Autumn Reagan, Reese Reagan, Ryder Schmoll, Emma Dietz; and a sister, Carol Johnson of Erie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John (Tom) Reagan. Music will be provided by organist Celine Fehringer and soloist Rick Higgins. Casketbearers will be his grandsons: Travis Reagan, Justin Reagan, Michael Oatman, William Oatman, Brandon Reagan and Christopher Reagan.
