NORFOLK -- Funeral service for Eileen A. Werner, 86, of Norfolk will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk with Reverend Larry Dohmen officiating the service. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m., Monday, prior to service time. Eileen died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. She died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove. Born March 13, 1932, in Meadow Grove, she was the daughter of Calvin C. and Avis F. (DeCamp) Munger. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden on July 19, 1978, and attended eight years at School District 24 in Pierce County, graduated from Meadow Grove High School in 1949, then attended Norfolk Junior College for two years. She married Paul G. Werner on Feb. 26, 1976, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Meadow Grove. Eileen and Paul lived a mile east of Meadow Grove. In 1983, after Paul died, Eileen moved to Madison. She then moved to Norfolk in 1994 because of a house fire. Eileen enjoyed taking pictures, bus tours and also casino trips. She was a member of the Norfolk Salvation Army. Survivors include a brother, Don Munger of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Munger of Meadow Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Paul; her parents; her brothers, Ivan, and George; and her sisters, Marjorie Schutt and Isabelle Schulze. John Petersen will provide music for the service.
