Erwin L. "Bus" Michaelsen

NORFOLK -- Private graveside service for Erwin L. "Bus" Michaelsen, 99, of Norfolk was held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Erwin passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Erwin was born on April 5, 1922 to Ernst and Lillie (Schmidt) Michaelsen in Norfolk, Nebraska. He attended grade school in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk High School. He then served in the United States Army Air Corps from May 23, 1944 to February 26, 1946. He married Ellen Ainsworth on December 17, 1942 in Norfolk. Erwin worked as a grounds keeper for the Pierce Golf Course until he retired. Survivors include his son Rick Michaelsen of Norfolk, and four grandchildren.
