    NORFOLK -- Funeral service for Kathleen M. "Kathy" Luebe, 63, of Pierce, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk, NE, Celebrant is Father Marc Lim. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, in Norfolk. The Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held at Prospect View Cemetery rural Pierce. Kathy passed away May 31, 2019 at Stanton Health Care, Stanton, NE. Kathleen M. “Kathy” Luebe was born Dec. 2, 1955, in Norfolk to Raymond and Hildegarde (Krienert) Zach. She attended country school, St. Joseph’s Parochial School, graduated from Pierce High School in 1974 and went to Northeast Community College, graduating in May 1975 with an associate degree in business. Kathy began work at Midwest Bank in 1976. She left due to health reasons on July 25, 2010, after 34 years of employment. She married her first husband, Tom Newman, on Dec. 3, 1977. The couple lived in Pierce. To this union two children were born, Eric and Britney. They later divorced. She married her second husband, Kirk “Boom” Luebe, on March 15, 1991, at their residence in Pierce. Kathy enjoyed camping, taking Sunday drives, playing solitaire, socializing with friends, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Pierce EMT 10 years. Kathy moved to Edgewood Vista in Norfolk on July 4, 2014. She later moved to Stanton Health Center on Jan. 7, 2016. She is survived by husband Kirk “Boom” Luebe of Pierce; children Britney (Brandon) Miller of Norfolk and Eric (Katie) Newman of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kellen and Kane; mother Hilde Zach of Pierce; siblings Greg (Kellie) Zach of Virginia Beach, Va., Gina (Mark) Cook of Ponca, Julie (Kevin) Siedschlag of Pierce, Ray (Shalonn) Zach of Woodbine, Iowa; sister-in-law Sylvia Zach of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond, and brother Paul. Recorded hymns for the service will be “You Raise Me Up,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket bearers will be Jacob Siedschlag, Zack Cook, Matt Herian, Jared Thompson, Trent Thompson and Jason Peters.
