PIERCE — Services for Rose Ann Polt, 82, of Pierce will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pierce. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the church with the Rev. Keith Rezac officiating. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge. She died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Rose Ann was born Oct. 23, 1931, to Carl and Sophia (Theisen) Hoffmann in rural Pierce. She graduated from Pierce Public High School in 1948. She married Arthur Polt on June 22, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierce. Art passed away Nov. 21, 2006. The couple farmed northwest of Pierce all their life. Rose Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, baking wedding cakes, ceramics, playing cards and enjoyed reading. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pierce, Christian Mothers, Altar Society, Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer at Pierce Manor and Faith Regional Health Services. Rose Ann had been a resident at St. Joseph’s Care Center in Norfolk since March 2014. She is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Steve and Carm Polt of Pierce, Richard Polt and friend Patricia Kellogg of Norfolk, Craig and Betty Polt of Pierce, Beth Ann and Dave Lienemann of Pierce, Brenda and Russell Retzlaff of Pierce, Gerard and Terri Polt of Pierce, Joe and Cee Cee Polt of Brady and David and Lisa Polt of Pierce; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Leonard Hoffmann of Pierce. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Art; four brothers, Carl, Bob, Ed and Francis; two sisters, Colette and Audrey; and one grandchild. Organist will be Celine Fehringer and the St. Joseph’s Church Choir. Hymns will be “On Eagle’s Wings”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Ave Maria” and “Gentle Woman.” Casket bearers are grandchildren Clayton Lienemann, Heath Lienemann, Dalton Polt, Michael Polt, Thomas Polt and Wyatt Polt. Honorary casket bearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
