Arvis Lillie Ann Porath

NORFOLK — Services for Arvis Lillie Ann Porath, 73, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk with the Rev. Chris Asbury officiating. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. She died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at her home. She was born Sept. 21, 1941, at Nebraska to Edward and Henrietta (Sass) Ausdemore, baptized at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bloomfield and confirmed at a Lutheran church in Madison. Arvis and Victor Porath were united in marriage on June 16, 1984, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. He died on Dec. 31, 2007. Arvis was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the owner of A&V Tours, and she belonged to the American Legion Auxilary. When Arvis wasn’t on her tour bus, she was spending time with her family, traveling, attending craft shows and playing cards with her friends and family. She attended Madison Public School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by son Rodney (Julie) Jonson of Pierce, daughter Cathy Logan of Norfolk; sisters Mavis (John) Janecke of Wonder Lake, Ill, Lee (John) Obermeyer of Hoskins and Barb Lange of Crofton; sisters-in-law Gaynold (Marlin) Mozer of Battle Creek and Marliyn Ausdemore of Norfolk; brother-in-law Duane Chamberlin of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Brandy (Derek) Price and their children Izzabelle, Easton and Sophia, Brooke (David) Drees and their children Cambrie and Beckett, R.J. Jonson, Jamie Marymee and her children Alexis, Michael, Bridgette, Bryan Jonson (Amanda) and their children Damion and Andrew, Amber Anderson, and Megan Koester and her son Issac; former husband Bud Jonson; as well as many niece, nephews and friends. She was proceded in death by her parents, Ed and Henrietta Ausdemore; husband Victor Porath; her brother, James Ausdemore; sister Marty Chamberlin; brother-in-law Kevin Lange; grandparents Henry and Lillie Sass and Henry and Anna Ausdemore; and mother-in-law Naomi Porath. Organist will be Emily Carlson. Casketbearers will be Randy Ausdemore, Mike Ausdemore, Jason Chamberlin, Jeremy Obermeyer, Tim Lange and Doug Krueger.
