Darrell Dean McFadden

RANDOLPH – Funeral service for Darrell D. McFadden, 79, of Randolph will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at the United Methodist Church in Randolph. Reverend Judy Carlson will be officiating the service. Interment will take place at the Randolph City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Randolph. Darrell passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Arbor Care Centers Countryside Nursing Home in Madison, NE. Stonacek Funeral Chapel of Randolph is in charge of the arrangements. Darrell was born on March 14, 1944 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Lloyd and Neva (Rohde) McFadden. He attended Randolph High School where he graduated from in 1962. He married Judy Hilkemann in 1964 at the First United Methodist Church in Randolph. After their marriage the couple moved to Hot Springs, S.D. where Darrell worked as a Bee Keeper and also at an autobody repair shop. After two years of living in S.D. they moved back to Randolph to farm and also where they welcomed their five children. In 1990 they moved off of the farm and into town in Randolph where Darrell then worked for the City of Randolph. He later worked at the grain elevator in Randolph until his retirement. During most of that time Darrell served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the City of Randolph. He enjoyed wood working and carpentry work, specially making furniture and rocking chairs for the grandkids. He worked on tractors and vehicles and could fix pretty much anything with an engine. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed classic cars and pulling in tractor pulls. He is survived by his wife Judy of 59 years, son Doug McFadden of Madison, daughter Trish (Roger) Blank of Pierce, son Pat McFadden of Randolph, son Darin (Melissa) McFadden of Norfolk, Grandkids; Morgan (Kyle) Samuelson of Loomis, Riley (Kayla) McFadden of Norfolk, Tyler McFadden, Camryn McFadden, great grandkids; Asher Samuelson and baby McFadden due in October, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Neva, son Daniel McFadden, sister Cathie McFadden, brother Dean McFadden, granddaughters Mashayla and Marissa, mother and father-in-law Erwin and Elsie Hilkemann, brother and sister-in-law Vernon and Mary Ellen Hilkemann, great uncle Fred McFadden and great aunt Leola “Dick” Teeple. Casket bearers will be Camryn McFadden, Jason Hilkemann, Morgan Samuelson, Tyler McFadden, Don Rohde, Steve Stueckrath, Marty Nordhues, Riley McFadden.
