Margie L. Simpson

NORFOLK -- Funeral service for Margie L. Simpson, 83, of Norfolk will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk with Rev. Ray S. Wilke officiating. Interment will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Margie died Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Norfolk Veterans Home. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Born Sept. 1, 1935, in Tilden, she was the daughter of Arnold and Ruth (Warner) Eggers. She attended grade school in Tilden and graduated from Tilden High School. She married Robert “Bob” Simpson on June 29, 1955, at Evangelical Reform Church in Tilden. Margie and Bob moved to Battle Creek in 1955 for a short time until moving to Norfolk They had three children: Karen, Randy and Rodney. Margie first worked at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Battle Creek before being employed at Arkfeld Manufacturing for 37 years. Margie enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, planting and caring for flowers, playing the piano, traveling with family, volunteering at the church and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk, as well as many organizations through the church, Norfolk Braille Group, The Red Hat Society and the Norfolk American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her spouse, Bob Simpson of Norfolk; a daughter, Karen (Bill) Wind of Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Patty Simpson of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Robin (Jake) Claussen, Beau (Rachel) Simpson and Tia Simpson; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Melia, Ryker and Lakyn; a brother, Keith (Dawn) Eggers of Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Myrna Wolfe of Columbus; and her sisters-in-law, Colleen Eggers of Norfolk and Barb Eggers of Tilden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Ruth; two sons, Randy Simpson and Rodney Simpson; and two brothers, Duane Eggers and Kenneth Eggers. Music will be provided by organist Melodee Drenkow and soloist Angie Skiff. Pallbearers will be Beau Simpson, Jake Claussen, Jerry Prauner, Carl Bernstrauch, Dan Regan, Dan Wolfe, Chris Eggers and Mark Eggers.
