Summer E. Ahlman

NORFOLK -- A celebration of life service for Summer Ahlman, 50, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. AJ Gandert will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Summer and her family moved to Norfolk in 1988, and she started dating her soul mate Grant Ahlman a year later. The two married in 1991. Summer was a dedicated wife and mother, who never hesitated to make sacrifices for her family and loved ones. She built a career in accounting, shipping, and transportation. She worked her way up from the factory floor to managing complex logistics and compliance operations — and she did everything she could to give her kids and grandkids an easier life. Summer was whip smart but endlessly humble; a gentle listener but never afraid to speak her mind; a generous friend and caretaker of her community; and a lover of history, politics, and ideas. She made everyone she met feel welcome, and she always stood up for the little guy. Summer loved riding motorcycles and attending rallies with her husband and friends. She never stopped learning, and was an avid reader and follower of current events. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and her adoring grandsons, who called her “Nana.” Summer passed away on January 15, 2026. Her memory is kept alive by her loving husband Grant, her four children Kip (Jessica) Ahlman, Cyrus (Hannah) Ahlman, Alyssia Ahlman, and Austin (Noah) Ahlman-Nieting, her beloved grandsons Ronin, Emory, Abel, Lincoln, and Reid, her mother Linda, her sister Valarie (Donald) Bermel, her brother Donald Dykes, and her little sisters Christina and Emerald Dykes.
